Dr. Dev (Fictional Name) while a MBBS student in AIIMS, New Delhi, saw one of his senior buying lots of small packets of glucose biscuits. Curiously he asked the reason for the same.
The senior replied, “My exams are starting from tomorrow. This is in preparation for my exams.”
“Preparations for exams?” asked a surprised Dr. Dev.
The senior explained, “As you know the brain cells requires glucose for function. While studying for the exam tomorrow I will eat these glucose biscuits intermittently for an energy boost for the brain cells.”
“During the long hours of the practical exam I will carry them in my bag.” He explained further, “If opportunity present I will take a quick bite in between and especially before going for the viva to boost my brain cells and thus my viva marks.”
Tip: Unfortunately all good things come with a negative side as well. There is lot of reports on the negative effects of taking a high sugar diet such as increasing obesity. This has to be kept in your mind before trying to follow the senior.
Tip: There is also the danger of tooth decay and cavities with eating sweet biscuits. Gargle or rinse your mouth after eating anything sweet.
Tip: It is better not be seen by the examiners or invigilators while eating anything in the exam hall / ward. If eating anything, do it out of sight. Be careful to wipe any crumbs from your face before going in front of the examiners.
